Day 10 - Stormy departure

Day 10 - Stormy departure

We looked for casual activities to spend the day since we basically had a full day until our first return flight. Flying to Athens this evening will be mixed with different emotions, like hating to leave and eager to finish the 11 hour flight home tomorrow.

There is a farrwell dinner planned for our little group of 6 while the remaining group extended their vacation to the island of Crete. There's time to spare in the morning though, so everyone seemed to break out for one last Santorini outing.

This was the hottest day so far, and the 70% humidity was triple the usual. There's another archeological museum to see, which sounds great for dodging the soupy feeling outside. The 5 minute walk and 10 euros is well worth it to see what came out of excavating Akrotiri. It's basically the extension from visiting the original archeological site a few days before because the artifacts are moved here for preservation. These items were so well preserved by the volcanic rock that you can't believe they're over 3000 years old.

We smash one last soulvaki lunch for good luck. And then frozen Greek yogurt from Frozen Box.

Can't forget new sandals when leaving Greece!

We land at our airport hotel and check in around 8p. We're all anxious to sit down at dinner which had some of the best presentation and unique dishes.
