Day 5 - Island of Delos & The Cat Civilization

Day 5 - Island of Delos & The Cat Civilization

We toured the island of Delos to learn about the Cycladic Civilization. It's a pretty short ferry ride to get there. We anticipated a great learning experience after the mind blowing stories of Athens. Delos is an uninhabited ancient island that had a sophisticated community in the Bronze Age. The ancient civilications of Greece were way ahead of their time. The museum next to the archeological site helped us expand our lessons today.

Yet again, the island has roaming cats like herds of cattle. There's enough feline energy present there for a compelling story of a cat invasion.

Yolanda provided the private tour and must possess some goddess powers along with her extensive knowledge of the island. She was the long winded cat whisperer, teaching us centuries of ancient history without missing a beat.

Ferries make for easy travel between islands. The view from the boat never gets old. Even caught the sunset leaving the island.

We landed back for dinner at Old Port where the name of the restaurant was not to be taken with a grain of salt. I think Nice and Easy had its inspirations from the love of Raggae music. If playing it non-stop wasn't weird enough in the middle of a Greek Island, then the lack of dessert at the end was the straw that broke our back. No one in their right mind thinks a fruit tray should be dessert at such an eccentric place, but maybe that's the secret sauce (Oh! Dipping sauce would've been nice!).

"I want meatballs, rice and mustard", said no one ever.

They get an A for display.
