Day 7 - Sad to leave, but Santorini awaits!

Day 7 - Sad to leave, but Santorini awaits!

Another ferry ride this morning, leaving behind the most relaxing part of the trip. Farewell to Fix beer and magical sea water. These high-speed ferries offer a comfortable ride and get you quickly to your destination at about ~55 MPH. You're free to recline your seat, order concessions and enjoy the view for a couple hours.

ETA for our hotel in Fira is 1p, so we have time to eat lunch and unpack before our scheduled walking tour. Santorini is famous for its broken structure of islands that have formed over thousands of years with the active volcano in the center. The bus ride to the top will make you dizzy as it winds the uphill terrain, but the beautiful view of the villages sitting on top the island looks unbelievable.

The active volcano sits right between the islands
Church of Hypapanti

We had dinner at Volcano Blue. We came for the view but stayed for the seafood...dude.

Santorini donkeys right below our dinner spot
Fish soup (fresh fish with veggies, yoghurt & herbs)
Santorini salad - The island is known for cherry tomatoes
Bruschettes with shrimp
Black rice (...yup) with mussels
Gilhead for the main course (better known as seabream)
Strawberry cheesecake
