Day 9 - Sunset cruise farewell
The last full day before leaving the island will be an excellent ending, an exciting sunset catamaran. There's an open morning to explore Fira before setting sail at 3. We wanted to walk early in the morning before the heat, so we jumped a ride on our first public bus to Imerovigli (the third village).

Break time. Finally got that minty cocktail I never wanted.

Words cannot describe the scenery from this catamaran. Perfect weather as we're hopping the boat.

I definitely can't pull off the Dion pose so call mine whatever you want.

First time docking the boat to swim. We're in this volcanic rock cove where the water is turning green from sulfur overload.

We docked a second time for swimming to Red Beach. Made it to the shore and back with some volcanic rocks in my pocket. You would not believe how the red and black sand feels cool to the touch.

Breaking for dinner. They legitimately have a gas grill on the boat to make fresh soulvaki. Too bad dessert looked like something I picked up on the beach.

Medium rare steak-mountain? Mmm hhmm

Rando hillside churches.

The remaining pictures I just call strata-sagna. The layers of volcanic rock make these stunning unique patterns in the base of the island that remind me of Italian cuisine!

You'd expect a great view of the sunset for this ride, but there is actual occasions where African dust can affect the southern areas of Greece and ruin some outdoor activities like this. It's better than I expected and turned out decent for pictures still.
